Materials: Plastic Tubes
Plastic tubing is produced in a variety a shapes, sizes and materials. Most commonly we carry Acrylic and Polycarbonate tubing, but also distribute HDPE tube, Clear Vinyl tube, PVC tube and many others. With the exception of PVC Pipe, plastic tubing size is identified using three factors: 1) Material Type, 2) The Outside Diameter (of O.D.) of the tube, and 3) The Inside Diameter (or I.D.) of the tube.
EDUCATIONAL TIP: Because PVC Pipe is typically used for irrigation and plumbing purposes which require a user to calculate the volume of liquid that can pass through a pipe, measurements are typically associated with the inside diameter of the pipe. So a 1" PVC pipe would have an INSIDE diameter close to 1", where 1" Acrylic or Polycarbonate tube would have a 1" OUTSIDE diameter. Call for availability.
