Mr. Plastics has been making manufactured parts for various industries since 1985 (long before the Covid barriers were in such high demand!).
Manufactured parts are a large cog in the wheel of industrial industries. Many places that produce food, medical parts, transportation vehicles and more rely on suppliers to make manufactured parts from different materials. Plastics materials make up many of these items. It's an often overlooked aspect of the plastics industry but is a major part of keeping many things used by consumers on a daily basis operating! Here are some examples of manufactured parts that have been made for industrial use:

Summer is here and that means it's outdoor roofing material time! If you look up every so often you'll probably notice that your pergola or outdoor deck covering is made of a fluted plastic material. That material is called: polycarbonate twin wall. It's specifically made for outdoor roofing edifices like greenhouses, pergolas, verandas, deck coverings and more. It's made with outdoor elements in mind like rain, snow, sun, wind and it has a two or three wall fluted build. Often also called "two wall" or "three wall." The material is lightweight yet strong, UV-protected, impact-resistant and also offers great thermal efficiency. The sheets comes in various thickness: 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, and 16mm -- generally the thicker you go the more durable it will be. Polycarboante twin wall is an excellent alternative to glass or even solid plastic sheets especially for roofing. The flutes also create a shiny and natural outdoor aesthetic. The sheets come in three colors: clear, opal (white), and bronze. There are also various connector pieces that are used for installation like H Channels and U Channels. The spring and summer months are high times for this material as it's often when people realize they need to update their outdoor settings. Our sales associates at Mr. Plastics are well versed in the applications of twin wall polycarbonate and can help you with your needs. Manufacturers of the material are companies like Gallina. Here are some examples of polycarbonate twin wall being used. Polycarbonate twin wall is lightweight yet strong material that is UV-protected and impact-resistant. Mr. Plastics is a proud member of the Chamber of Commerce and is humbled to be in this category. This past year was certainly a trying time and we were challenged in understanding where we fit in during the pandemic. Fortunately, we jumped into action to meet the plastic needs of essential businesses. We made face shields, sneeze guards, partitions, and more so that businesses could operate safely. Having been in business for 35 years, we haven't lost sight of our small business roots. We work with large corporations, small businesses, entrepreneurs and more. Being able to service the community of San Leandro, the greater Bay Area and more is such a pleasure. You can tune into the virtual awards and root us on in our category! It's hard to believe it's been a year since the Bay Area shut down due to the growing threat of COVID-19.
A year later, there is a vaccine and many business are fully reopened (we are still wearing masks however!). Mr. Plastics happened to be one business that was able to not only keep its doors open during the pandemic but also thrive! Plastics -- a commodity that even a virus can't take down! Being able to make an impact in the last year and working with hospitals, cities, schools, governments, businesses, medical offices, restaurants and so much more has helped to keep this all in perspective. Since last March we have worked with countless businesses to custom design acrylic barriers so they could safely stay open and service their customers, clients, patients and more. This year challenged us as a business as well -- we custom designed and did more onsite visits than ever before and came up with clever and new ways to hang, connect, and bond plastic to all kind of things. This is truly a testament to our design team and our fabrication team -- they were able to think on their feet and adapt to the different needs of each customer. Our sales team also worked tirelessly, helping more customers than ever: emails, calls, drop ins: you name it! We were servicing more customer than ever and each had a special or custom need. It was truly a pleasure to be able to do business with so many new faces. We were even featured in the news: KRON 4 did a special on us, the Associated Press created a package all about the protective barriers and sneeze guards during the pandemic. It's been a whirlwind of a year and we are happy everything is getting back to normal! Here are some of unique project we created and we continue to create custom work! Please reach out with any plastics projects!
Recently, Mike Adelson: President of Mr. Plastics was interviewed on KRON4 News to talk about the COVID19 pandemic and Mr. Plastics response.
Since the shut down came into effect in California: Mr. Plastics has responded swiftly as an essential business. The company has been able to provide plexiglass and protective barriers to numerous health organizations and individuals. The most pressing to start were the PPE needs in hospitals. After hospitals, came other medical facilities likes dental offices. Once more businesses were able to reopen: there was a surge in the need for acrylic materials: either raw materials or fabricated protective barriers (more commonly known as sneeze guards) in offices, restaurants, nail salons, hair salons, retail stores and most recently schools. Mr. Plastics hasn't ever had a shortage of material throughout the entire pandemic, which was due to Mike's strategic business planning. The interview was conducted by news anchor Sanaz Tahernia and can be seen in its entirety below. Mr. Plastics has been servicing hospitals, food distributors and transportation services for 35 years. We have always been a fundamental part of the manufacturing industry but more recently, plastics has become even more of a necessity because of the COVID-19 virus.
Since the Corona virus took precedence in the US, hospitals, grocery stores, and individuals donating their time are calling for all kinds of plastics to make face shields, masks and sneeze guards. As we continued to work through this pandemic, we realize our duty is now two fold: to provide our customers with outstanding service and to contribute to the effort to fight COVID-19. We continue to work hard to service the customers in the aforementioned fields, to make sure they are protected as they continue to work and interact with patients, customers and more. If you are in need of plastic in any gauge or size we are able to take orders over the phone and via email. We do deliveries within the Bay Area and we can also service will calls at our facility. Shipping via UPS (depending on sizing) or drop ship is also available. Don'e hesitate to reach out! Call: 510-895-0774 Email: Tillie@mr-plastics.com We have an updated website! We are pleased to give Mr. Plastics this updated look and we hope you enjoy it as well! 'Earlier this week, Mr. Plastics' Social Media Manger: Tillie Adelson was invited to speak at San Leandro High School's annual Career Day. It was a busy day with several presentations revolving around the questions: "Who are you?" "What do you do?" and "How did you get there?"
Here is a small recap: Who are you? My name is Tillie Adelson and I'm originally from San Leandro and work as a social media manager and blogger. What do you do? I work for Mr. Plastics spearheading all their social media efforts. When I first started working with Mr. Plastics, on a freelance basis in 2018, I realized they weren't utilizing any of their social media channels. So I immediately took on the task of collecting and creating content and got those accounts active. How did you get there? I started as a blogger for my own blog: My Stiletto Life and as social media became a larger part of blogging: I started to focus more on my growth there. Once, I saw success in the social media marketing space: I began freelancing for individuals and businesses that wanted someone to manage their social media. (As there were many businesses that knew they needed to be active in the space but didn't know how to manage or do the work.) With this, I realized social media was not limited to just one field but could be applied to many and was a viable career! Mr. Plastics came into the picture because it is my family business and I knew I could bring my skillset there and make an impact. (This blog is even a product of that impact: we are blogging!!) Speaking to the students on Career Day, about social media and how it's a viable career was really exciting. Now there are degrees in social media and classes tailored just for a career in the field. Many of the students were mostly interested in, you guessed it: the bottom line! How do you make money this way? and How do you live a balanced life? Which were great questions! My answers to them was to either freelance and work for several people at the same time or look for social media roles within large corporations that offer the full-time support. Overall, it was a great day and the students questions were thoughtful and it was evident that they were excited about their future. Mr. Plastics' acrylic trophy stand takes center stage at the Golden State Warriors' 2017 Championship parade. Even Steph Curry can't take his eyes off it! Coach Steve Kerr likes it too.
We are proud to congratulate our Warehouse Manager, Louie Jeronimo, on 9 great years of service with Mr. Plastics this month. Louie has been a tremendous asset to our company and has filled multiple rolls as our company has grown throughout the years.
